REGULATION

COLiseum International Film FEstival

COLIFFE - COLiseum International Film FEstival

Organization

The Festival is organized by the Social Promotion association Pianeta Empatia.

The association promotes and pursues exclusively the aim of human, civil, cultural and social promotion and solidarity which are based on the principles of the Italian Constitution.

The association directs its attention specifically and primarily to:

  • To the development of the human personality in all its expressions and to the removal of obstacles that prevent the implementation of the principles of freedom, equality, equal social dignity and equal opportunities, encouraging the exercise of the right to health, social protection, education, culture, training, sport as well as the enhancement of professional attitudes and skills; to the promotion of welcome and hospitality to people, adults or minors, Italians or foreigners, in conditions of disability, marginality and/or social fragility, also in agreement with the proposed public or private bodies.

  • To the entertainment of the free time of disabled and marginalized people, training and aggregation initiatives of a cultural, sporting-recreational, social animation nature aimed at preventing inconveniences and/or deviances (e.g. festivals, exhibitions, stays, weekly meetings on site, Sunday outings, peace education, ecological and environmental defense initiatives, etc.).

Furthermore, based on further availability, the association provides the following initiatives, listed by way of example:

  • study and research services, management of information, multimedia and socialization spaces, including in prisons and penal institutions for adults and minors;

  • support and initiatives of any cultural activity (exhibitions, conferences and events), video-musical, theatrical and cinematographic, physical and gymnastic expression, amateur and amateur sporting activity, nutritional education and provision of drinks and food also against payment or contribution;

  • community forms of hospitality, including non-hotel accommodation, with social tourism purposes aimed at socially marginalized individuals and their families and/or associations.

The PIANETA EMPATIA Association, committed to developing proposals that promote cultural opportunities present in the territory, sees cinema as a vehicle through which a territory can start a process of cultural growth capable of triggering development mechanisms combined with local activities same.

In this case the territory is the splendid reality of Rome and its suburbs, places full of ancient villas, ancient ruins and breathtaking views, as well as a generous food and wine offer.

The aim of the festival is to promote international competitiveness through attractiveness, a theme that concerns territories not only for what they are but also for how they can be developed and communicated. A territory is social value, exchange value and experience value, but also cultural value and economic value.

And the theme of the exchange between economy, experience and culture is what pushed us to focus on the territories of the Capital and its surroundings, which, located in this splendid geographical area, can spread the culture of cinema as a privileged meeting place between the stories of countries and peoples distant from each other, encouraging the bringing together of different cultures.

The Coliseum International Film Festival is a fundamental resource for the film industry as it not only contributes significantly to the cultural, economic and social development of the territory in which it is held, but also constitutes an essential link in the ecosystem of the film industry.

The Coliseum International Film Festival is multi-mission, in fact:

  • promotes the knowledge and diffusion of international cinema in all its forms of art, entertainment and industry, in a spirit of freedom, equality and equal opportunities;

  • offers directors wider recognition for their work, spreading word of mouth among critics, cinephiles and audiences;

  • discovers new talent and helps structure emerging production areas;

  • creates business opportunities for films that have not yet obtained agreements for commercial exploitation or for certain territories.

COLIFFE can be defined as a GREEN FESTIVAL from many points of view, from Sustainable Mobility (the locations are always identified near subway and/or train stops, means that are suggested to guests, together with electric ones and the car sharing solution) to Sustainable Energy Consumption (in in-person locations the aim is to reduce energy consumption, reducing lighting to the bare minimum by setting the heating system to the minimum level of well-being), from the Printing of Materials (the digital format is favored for communication, information and promotion of the event or paper materials printed on recycled paper by FSC/PEFC certified suppliers and the prizes are made with organic materials extracted from corn grain or with natural and degradable glass fibres) to the Installations (they are made only with biodegradable materials , without specific references to the edition, to be able to reuse them in the future).

From Waste Management (separate collection of the same numerous collection points and easily recognizable and visible containers) to Guest Management (only digital train and subway tickets and Travelife or Green Globe certified hotels are offered), from Food Sustainability (DOCG wines at 0 km, water and drinks on tap, no food waste, seasonal products at 0 km, washable crockery and certified tissue paper napkins) to Environmental Culture and Social Sustainability (sponsors who share and support the sustainability values of the festival and suppliers equipped with a certified Environmental Management System, chosen locations free of architectural barriers and accessible to people with disabilities and specific needs, promotion of gender equality and full participation of all individuals and valorisation of the territory) to end with Training and Communication (staff adequately trained on environmental sustainability and on the conduct policies adopted by the management and communication of the environmental and eco-sustainable policies adopted by the festival).

The festival invites all participants, in every form and role, to pay particular attention to adopting behaviors in this green direction.

Festival activities

The fourth edition of the Festival is defined as "social", that is, with the aim of enhancing the aggregation of all the protagonists of independent cinema and first works.
